Week 20: I'm BAAAaaaaack!

Well, it was an AWESOME vacation.  I enjoyed it a lot.

I didn't take many pictures, as my phone decided to die soon after we all got together.  And that's what I use for pictures.  Ah well.

So there were several differences immediately, besides transportation by car, being able to read signs and understanding what everyone was saying.  One difference was..

SNOW!

I love snow!  I will admit, sometimes I love it best on the other side of the window, but I still love it!  And I got to go play in snow!  Sadly it was too cold for snowmen. Almost for snowballs! Not too cold for snow angels though!

my white hat fell over my eyes.

And family!

before laptops, we all had books in this scene!

And ridiculously sized food products!

root beer keg stand! (yes, I know that's not a keg stand)

We got together in a rental in Park city and BOY did THEY have snow!

and it was no-where near warm enough to melt the sidewalks free.

At one point Dani and I went for a walk and found a park! made all the more exciting due to the snow burying everything!

log roll!

I want one of these in my backyard

so many length problems here.

ooOOOoooo

I kept falling off that one.

Of course, it wasn't all playground!  Park city has some awesome slopes! So we had fun!  We went skiing

And snowboarding!

 And even sledding!

Woooo!

When we got too cold, we would come back in and do inside things.

my new onsie

Tiny is so helpful!
we traded around books all OVER the place that week.

And we DID explore the town as well.

"the flying sumo sushi" We didn't stop in.

but it was COLD

At the end of the vacation, we were all sad to go.  I had a little extra time with the parents, which was nice because I ended up buying SO MUCH "boy I miss this in Japan" stuff!  I also got time to doom my nephew via brain-eating hat

His parents have ones too

I'm really proud of that one.

When it was time to go back, I was sad, but happy. It was time to go back and DO stuff. Be productive, (stop eating so much Christmas candy) you know?

The flight was SOOOOO long, but I only had to see security once, that was nice.  It really hit me I was back when I was on the airport limo to the train station and saw this.

it changes color!

That is a light up-driving advertisement for a karaoke place.

This week was weird. My brain was obviously still on vacation, because I kept doing things like forgetting what station to get off at.  I walked into my first class and thought "wait, HOW do I start class?" Never MIND that I had been doing the same start for MONTHS.

It was ok because the students' brains were on vacation as well.  You could always see the slight panic fight with the catatonia as they realized they had to remember English.

So this week was mostly re-establishing myself in Japan, remembering what I'm doing and...getting over Jet-lag.  YUP.  Twice in one month! NOT FUN.  Not even any festivals this weekend!  (not that there were any worth going to)

Everyday, I'd just come back to the apartment, and...chill.

which is good enough for this week.
